TCHS JROTC Cougar Battalion
Our History
The Colony Cougar Battalion was founded in 1993. Since this time our battalion has grown and evolved in many different ways. We have went from having one team compete in one competition type to having 8 different teams compete in both the Varsity and JV categories. We have went from being non-competitors to being one of the most competitive teams in the State and the most competitive team in North Texas. Our academics team has made it to nationals and has received third place distinctions within the entire brigade, a brigade which includes 5 states and thousands of JROTC units. Aside from competition, we as a battalion stress the importance of community service to not only our cadets, but also the entire school, completing more than 45,000 hours of community service within our battalion in the last 18 years. But in the end our main focus has and always will be in developing our cadets to be the future leaders of America. Graduates of our program are college graduates, proud soldiers, and officers in the United States military. Our goal is to bring this history and success to every cadet who walks through our doors so that we cannot only prepare them for high school, but the future as well.
